About Education

Diocesan Schools' Council

A key mission imperative of the Diocese has been the development of accessible schools.  The Diocesan Schools’ Council (DSC)

was formed in 1998 to oversee the development of new schools.  Education is a key mission focus for the Diocese and our

structure enables partnerships to be developed between schools and parishes.

The DSC currently has oversight of four schools: Burgmann Anglican School in Gungahlin and Forde,

the Riverina Anglican College, Wagga,  St Peter’s Anglican College, Broulee, and Sapphire Coast Anglican College,

Bega and Pambula. A scan of further educational opportunities across the Diocese is being prepared for 2010.

Independent Schools

There are three established Anglican schools whose roots go back before the DSC: Canberra Girls’ Grammar School,

Canberra Grammar School and Radford College.  These well established schools are an integral part of the diocesan ministry,

with a combined student population of around 4,000.
